J&R Bicycles National Team Featured Rider-Cody Young

Introducing Cody Young! Cody has been riding BMX since he was five years old and joined the J&R National Team back in 2021. He got his start when the action at his local track caught his eye. “I saw the track across from the flag football field and wanted to try it,” he remembers. Cody’s favorite part of racing BMX is the thrill of it but with that adrenaline comes some challenges. He says the toughest part of competing is, “The mental aspect of BMX.” Cody is not afraid to challenge himself and says that his favorite track to race on is Yukon, OK “because of the big jump.”

Cody gets some of his inspiration and determination from his favorite BMX riders, Chad Romans, Caleb Minthorn, and Domingos Lammoglia. He says it is their dedication to the sport of BMX that he admires most. Cody’s own dedication and hard work have paid off on the podium, and his two-time Nat 1 wins are the accomplishments he is most proud of.
